And finally for today, seen as the blog’s been all busy and stuff, the blog carnival ‘Sceptic’s Circle‘ is up at Archaeoporn, and it’s a humdinger.

The post ‘get out of here atheists‘ at pharyngula, in particular, has instigated a lot of stimulating conversation, and is well worth having a look at.

An Illinois Democratic Representative Monique Davis attacks an atheist witness at a public hearing, screaming:

“This is the Land of Lincoln where people believe in God,” Davis said. “Get out of that seat . . . You have no right to be here! We believe in something. You believe in destroying! You believe in destroying what this state was built upon.”

Notwithstanding the fact that Lincoln said of religion:

“The Bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma.”

the whole thing is quite disturbing…
